Kyushu (九州) is the third largest island and most south-westerly of Japan four main islands (Hokkaido, Honshu, Shikoku, and Kyushu) .There are seven prefectures located there: Fukuoka, Kagoshima, Kumamoto, Miyazaki, Nagasaki, Oita, and Saga. Kyushu’s must visit spots are Mt.Aso, Kumamoto Castle, and Kyushu is blessed with many hot springs such as Beppu Onsen, Yufuin Onsen, Kurokawa Onsen, Kirishima Onsen, Ureshino Onsen, and Takeo Onsen. JR Kyushu offer 2 types of Rail pass which is All Area Kyushu Pass and North Kyushu Pass. The All Kyushu Area pass is valid on all JR Kyushu lines. This pass unlimited train travel on 3, or 5 consecutive days.

ELIGIBILITY

  • Only travelers who visiting Japan under the entry status of “Temporary visitor”, and has a passport bearing this stamp can use this pass. Please note that according to strict interpretation of the Japanese Immigration Law, “Temporary visitor” status differs even from other types of stays that are also for only short time periods.
  • Japanese passport holders can NOT use this pass. However in a rare case when travelers have dual passports (Japanese & Other), unless your valid non Japanese passport is stamped with “Temporary Visitor”, issuance of JR pass will be refused.

EXCHANGE

  • The voucher must be exchanged within a 3-month period from the date of issue.
  • To exchange the voucher for the Pass you will need your passport.
  • The start date of the Pass can no longer be changed once the pass has been exchanged.

    • Hakata Station Travel Service Center, weekdays from 10AM to 8PM, weekends until 6PM. Ticket Office daily from 5:30AM to 11PM
    • Hakata Port International Terminal, JR Kyushu Beetle Counter, daily from 9AM to 6PM
    • Fukuoka International Airport Terminal 1F, Travel Information Center
      Kokura Station Travel Service Center, weekdays from 10AM to 7PM, weekends until 6PM
    • Mojiko Station Travel Service Center, daily from 10AM to 6PM
    • Kumamoto Station Travel Service Center, weekdays from 10AM to 7PM, weekends until 5:30PM
    • Saga Station Travel Service Center, weekdays from 10AM to 7PM, weekends until 5PM
    • Nagasaki Station Travel Service Center, weekdays from 10AM to 7PM, weekends until 5:30PM
    • Oita Station Travel Service Center, weekdays from 10AM to 7PM, weekends until 5PM
    • Beppu Station Travel Service Center, daily from 10AM to 6PM

VALIDITY

  • The All Kyushu Area Pass is valid on all JR Kyushu lines.
  • The pass is not valid on the Sanyo Shinkansen, sleeper trains or JR Kyushu buses.

BOOKING

  • With the Pass, no additional fee is required when reserving seats.
  • In order to travel in first class (Green cars) you will have to pay additional fees. Non-reserved Ordinary class cars can be accessed freely.
  • To access the platforms, show your Pass to the JR Kyushu staff located at the gate to the platform.
  • To reserve a seat, ask the JR Kyushu staff at the the ticket office.
  • It is a personal Pass. Please always carry your passport when using the Pass as station and train staff may check it.

CANCELLATION

  • The starting date written on the All Area Kyushu Pass cannot be changed
  • An unused voucher is refundable for one year from the date of issue.
  • The voucher can be refunded if it has never been exchanged in Japan.
  • 15% of the price will be charged as a refund handling fee.
  • Refund is allowed only before the Exchange Order exchange to Rail Pass and it must submit for refund within 12 months from the issuance date.
  • The refund process required approximately 2 months to complete.
  • We’ll refund to cheque for cash and Nets payment and credit card for credit card payment.
  • Neither an Exchange Order nor a All Area Kyushu Pass can be reissued if lost or stolen.

North Kyushu Pass

  • Important: For verification purpose, customers are required to provide a passport copy when purchasing JR Pass at our JTB office/stores.
