Central Japan or well known as Chubu (中部) is central region of Japan’s Honshu island. The self-proclaimed “Heart of Japan”, the prefecture’s defining feature is the northern stretch of the Japan Alps, making it a prime destination for three popular Japanese pastimes: hiking, skiing and hot springs.
Nagoya (名古屋市 Nagoya-shi) is the largest city in the Chūbu region of Japan. It is Japan’s third-largest incorporated city and the fourth most populous urban area. It is located on the Pacific coast on central Honshu.
